Chameleon Dancer

Privacy Policy

Who we are

Chameleon Dancer is a mobile party game published by its independent developer. These practices describe the app on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Privacy questions: alvincepongos@gmail.com.

Overview

Gameplay stays on the phones in the room. We do not run accounts, cloud saves, online matchmaking, or our own game servers. There is no advertising in the app.

We do not ask for your legal name, email, phone number, contacts, or precise location. A dancer name is a nickname you choose for the party. It is shared with the other phones in that room, and it is not sent to us.

Information stored on your device

The app stores the following on the device, and not on a server we operate:

• Song files you import, song titles, and the songs that ship with the app.

• Whether this device’s store account has premium access. That cache does not include your card number or billing address.

• A dancer nickname, room code, player list, and the current round, while a party is open.

• Short audio clips prepared for a round. The host replaces those clips when a new round is prepared. A guest’s downloaded clip can remain in app storage until a later round replaces it or you delete the app.

• Whether the host tutorial has been seen, and how many rounds have finished so the app knows whether it already asked for a store rating. We do not receive the rating. Apple or Google does, if you choose to leave one.

Deleting the app removes this local data. You can also remove imported songs inside the app.

What other players can see

Phones on the same Wi-Fi exchange the room code, dancer nicknames, song titles, each player’s role when the round is revealed, and a short clip of the song that player is assigned. That traffic uses the local network. It is not encrypted. Someone on the same network who can inspect traffic could see it. It is not sent to us or to an analytics service.

If you use Invite or Share, your device’s share sheet opens. We do not receive the message or learn who you sent it to.

Permissions

Local network: to host or join a room over Wi-Fi.

Camera: only to scan a room’s join QR code. The app does not save photos or video.

Microphone: iOS may ask because the camera component declares it. The app does not record your voice or the room.

Files or media library: only when you import a song file you choose.

Android may also show audio-playback permissions so the round can play through headphones. Those are for playback, not for recording you.

Purchases

Premium Monthly and Premium Lifetime are sold by Apple or Google. They process payment. We do not receive your card number, billing address, or government ID. The app learns only whether the store account on this device has premium access, including after you tap Restore purchases.

An internet connection is required to buy, restore, or confirm that a subscription is still active. Offline, the app may show a cached premium status that is out of date.

App updates

Release builds may contact Expo’s update service (u.expo.dev) at launch to check for a small bug-fix update. That request can include the app version, operating system, update channel, and update identifiers. Expo may process the IP address of the request under its own privacy policy at https://expo.dev/privacy. We do not use that check for advertising or to build a profile of how you play.

Apple and Google may collect device diagnostics, purchase history, and crash data under their own policies when you download the app, buy premium, or contact them.

Advertising and sale of information

The app does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not respond to “Do Not Track” signals because the app does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Children

Chameleon Dancer is a party game for in-person groups. It is not directed to children under 13, and it is not offered as a kids-category app. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Do not use a child’s full name, school, or other identifying details as a dancer name. Premium purchases require the adult account holder for the App Store or Google Play account. If a child plays, a parent or guardian should supervise.

Your choices and international users

You can deny camera, local-network, or file access in system settings. The related feature then will not work. You can cancel a subscription in your store account settings. You can delete the app to remove local data. Because dancer names and songs never reach us, we cannot look them up or delete them from a server.

The app is offered from the United States. If you use it from another country, your device store and, for update checks, Expo may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate. Where a local law gives you a right to access, correct, or delete personal information a business holds, email us and we will explain what we actually hold, which is generally limited to store correspondence you send us.

Changes and contact

This policy was last updated on September 26, 2026. We may update it in an app update and on this page. The version in the app you installed is the one that applies to that version.
